BuyKarlo Trading Guidelines

Read safety parameters, transaction policies, and terms of service that protect Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students during campus trades.

BUYKARLO INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & TAKEDOWN POLICY

Effective Date: 1 June 2026

1. PURPOSE

BuyKarlo respects intellectual property rights and expects all users of the Platform to do the same.

This Intellectual Property & Takedown Policy establishes procedures for reporting content that allegedly infringes copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights and describes how BuyKarlo may respond to such reports.

This Policy should be read together with the Terms of Use, Community Guidelines, Seller Guidelines, and other applicable Platform policies.

2. USER RESPONSIBILITY

Users are solely responsible for ensuring that content uploaded to the Platform does not infringe the rights of third parties.

This includes:

  • Product photographs;
  • Product descriptions;
  • Logos;
  • Brand names;
  • Artwork;
  • Designs;
  • Videos;
  • Documents;
  • Any other content submitted to the Platform.

Users may not upload content they do not have the legal right to use.

3. PROHIBITED INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY VIOLATIONS

Users must not:

  • Copy copyrighted images without authorization;
  • Upload content belonging to another individual or business without permission;
  • Use trademarks in a misleading manner;
  • Sell counterfeit products;
  • Misrepresent affiliation with brands;
  • Infringe patents, copyrights, trademarks, design rights, or other intellectual property rights.

Violation of intellectual property rights may result in enforcement action under this Policy.

4. REPORTING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY VIOLATIONS

Rights holders or authorized representatives may submit complaints regarding alleged intellectual property infringement.

Complaints should be sent to:

The complaint should include:

  • Full name of the complainant;
  • Contact information;
  • Description of the intellectual property right claimed;
  • Identification of the allegedly infringing content;
  • URL or listing reference where applicable;
  • Explanation of the alleged infringement;
  • Any supporting documentation reasonably available.

BuyKarlo may request additional information where necessary.

5. INITIAL REVIEW

Upon receipt of a complaint, BuyKarlo may:

  • Review the complaint;
  • Request clarification;
  • Request supporting evidence;
  • Review the reported content;
  • Contact the affected user.

Submission of a complaint does not automatically result in content removal.

6. TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF CONTENT

Where BuyKarlo reasonably believes that content may infringe intellectual property rights, BuyKarlo may:

  • Restrict visibility;
  • Disable access;
  • Remove content temporarily;
  • Suspend listings pending review.

Such actions may be taken without prior notice where reasonably necessary.

7. COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS

BuyKarlo prohibits listings involving counterfeit products.

Where a listing is reported as potentially counterfeit, BuyKarlo may:

  • Request additional information from the seller;
  • Restrict visibility of the listing;
  • Remove the listing;
  • Suspend the account;
  • Permanently terminate repeat offenders.

BuyKarlo reserves the right to act where counterfeit activity is reasonably suspected.

8. REPEAT INFRINGEMENT POLICY

Users who repeatedly violate intellectual property rights may be subject to:

  • Warnings;
  • Listing restrictions;
  • Temporary suspension;
  • Permanent account termination.

BuyKarlo shall determine repeat infringement based upon available information and Platform records.

9. FALSE OR ABUSIVE COMPLAINTS

Users must not knowingly submit false, misleading, fraudulent, or abusive intellectual property complaints.

BuyKarlo reserves the right to take action against individuals who misuse reporting mechanisms.

Such action may include:

  • Warning notices;
  • Restriction of reporting privileges;
  • Account suspension;
  • Account termination.

10. PLATFORM DISCRETION

BuyKarlo reserves the right to determine:

  • Whether content should remain available;
  • Whether additional information is required;
  • Whether enforcement action is appropriate.

BuyKarlo is not obligated to resolve private disputes concerning ownership, licensing arrangements, commercial disagreements, or contractual matters.

11. LIMITATION OF BUYKARLO’S ROLE

BuyKarlo operates as a technology platform and is not the creator, publisher, or owner of user-generated content.

Users acknowledge that:

  • BuyKarlo does not pre-screen all content;
  • BuyKarlo cannot independently verify all ownership claims;
  • BuyKarlo may rely on information provided by complainants and users during review.

Platform actions should not be interpreted as legal determinations regarding ownership or infringement.

12. COOPERATION WITH AUTHORITIES

Where required by law, court order, regulatory request, or lawful governmental process, BuyKarlo may cooperate with competent authorities regarding alleged intellectual property violations.

Nothing in this Policy shall limit BuyKarlo’s ability to comply with applicable legal obligations.

13. POLICY CHANGES

BuyKarlo reserves the right to amend this Policy from time to time to address legal developments, operational requirements, emerging risks, or changes in Platform functionality.

Updated versions shall become effective upon publication on the Platform.
