BuyKarlo Trading Guidelines

Read safety parameters, transaction policies, and terms of service that protect Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students during campus trades.

BUYKARLO TERMS OF USE

Effective Date: 1 June 2026

1. INTRODUCTION

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between BuyKarlo (“BuyKarlo”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) and any individual, business entity, organization, or other person (“User”, “you”, or “your”) accessing or using the BuyKarlo website, mobile application, platform, products, services, features, content, communication tools, and related technologies (collectively, the “Platform”).

By accessing, browsing, registering on, or otherwise using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional policies published on the Platform from time to time.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Platform.

2. NATURE OF THE PLATFORM

BuyKarlo is a technology-enabled discovery and communication platform that facilitates interaction between users interested in buying, selling, exchanging, or otherwise dealing in goods.

BuyKarlo provides tools that enable users to create listings, communicate with one another, and discover products offered by other users.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, BuyKarlo:

  • does not own listed products;
  • does not take possession of listed products;
  • does not inspect products;
  • does not authenticate products;
  • does not verify ownership of products;
  • does not negotiate transactions;
  • does not collect payments;
  • does not provide escrow services;
  • does not provide logistics or delivery services; and
  • is not a party to agreements entered into between users.

Any transaction, arrangement, understanding, negotiation, payment, delivery, exchange, inspection, or transfer of goods occurs solely between the relevant users.

3. ELIGIBILITY

To access or use the Platform, you represent and warrant that:

  • you are at least sixteen (16) years of age;
  • you possess the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law;
  • all information provided by you is accurate, complete, and current; and
  • your use of the Platform complies with applicable laws and regulations.

BuyKarlo reserves the right to refuse access, suspend accounts, request additional verification, or terminate accounts at its sole discretion.

4. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION AND VERIFICATION

Certain features of the Platform require account registration.

Users may be required to provide:

  • mobile number;
  • email address;
  • educational institution details;
  • student identification information;
  • profile information; and
  • any additional information reasonably requested by BuyKarlo.

Verification badges, trust indicators, or verification statuses merely indicate that specified information has been reviewed or verified by BuyKarlo through available means.

Such verification shall not constitute:

  • a guarantee of identity;
  • a guarantee of conduct;
  • a guarantee of legitimacy;
  • a guarantee of ownership;
  • a guarantee of product authenticity; or
  • an endorsement by BuyKarlo.

Users remain solely responsible for assessing risks associated with dealing with other users.

5. USER REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES

You represent, warrant, and undertake that:

  • you have lawful authority to offer any listed item;
  • your listings are truthful and not misleading;
  • products listed by you are not stolen, counterfeit, prohibited, or unlawful;
  • you possess all rights necessary to upload listing content;
  • your use of the Platform shall not infringe any third-party rights;
  • you shall comply with all applicable laws.

Any breach of this section may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

6. LISTINGS AND USER CONTENT

Users are solely responsible for all information, descriptions, photographs, videos, pricing information, communications, and other content uploaded through the Platform (“User Content”).

BuyKarlo does not routinely review, verify, validate, certify, or endorse User Content before publication.

BuyKarlo reserves the right, but assumes no obligation, to remove, restrict, edit, disable, or review any User Content at its sole discretion.

By uploading User Content, you grant BuyKarlo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to host, reproduce, display, distribute, store, and use such content for operating, improving, promoting, and securing the Platform.

7. USER COMMUNICATIONS

The Platform may provide messaging and communication tools.

Users acknowledge and agree that:

  • communications are initiated at their own discretion;
  • users are responsible for information shared with others;
  • BuyKarlo does not control user behavior;
  • BuyKarlo does not guarantee the accuracy of communications.

Users must not use Platform communications for fraud, harassment, intimidation, unlawful solicitation, spam, impersonation, or illegal activities.

8. TRANSACTIONS BETWEEN USERS

All transactions are conducted independently by users.

BuyKarlo shall not be liable for:

  • failed transactions;
  • non-payment;
  • defective products;
  • counterfeit products;
  • delivery failures;
  • misleading listings;
  • fraud;
  • personal injury;
  • property damage; or
  • losses arising from interactions between users.

BuyKarlo may review complaints, reports, or evidence submitted by users and may take platform enforcement actions where deemed appropriate. However, BuyKarlo does not act as a court, arbitrator, mediator, escrow agent, insurer, or guarantor.

Platform enforcement actions shall not be construed as a determination of legal liability.

9. PROHIBITED PRODUCTS AND ACTIVITIES

Users shall not list, advertise, promote, solicit, distribute, or facilitate transactions involving:

  • narcotics;
  • illegal drugs;
  • prescription medicines;
  • tobacco products;
  • vaping products;
  • alcohol;
  • firearms;
  • ammunition;
  • explosives;
  • adult content;
  • sexually explicit products;
  • stolen property;
  • counterfeit goods;
  • gambling-related products;
  • unlawful digital goods; or
  • any item prohibited under applicable law.

BuyKarlo reserves the unrestricted right to remove listings that may create legal, safety, reputational, or operational risks.

10. REPORTING, REVIEW, AND ENFORCEMENT

Users may report listings, accounts, communications, or activities believed to violate these Terms.

BuyKarlo may:

  • review reports;
  • request supporting information;
  • temporarily restrict listings;
  • remove listings;
  • issue warnings;
  • suspend accounts; or
  • permanently terminate accounts.

BuyKarlo shall have sole discretion regarding platform enforcement actions.

11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

All rights, title, and interest in the Platform, excluding User Content, remain the exclusive property of BuyKarlo and its licensors.

No rights are granted except those expressly provided herein.

Users shall not copy, reverse engineer, reproduce, distribute, modify, or exploit any part of the Platform without prior written consent.

12. DISCLAIMERS

The Platform is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BuyKarlo disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties relating to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy, reliability, security, and non-infringement.

BuyKarlo makes no representation regarding:

  • user identity;
  • product quality;
  • ownership of products;
  • legality of products;
  • authenticity of products;
  • transaction outcomes; or
  • user conduct.

13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BuyKarlo, its founders, owners, affiliates, employees, agents, contractors, and representatives shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or special damages arising from or relating to use of the Platform.

Users acknowledge that all interactions and transactions with other users are undertaken at their own risk.

14. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BuyKarlo and its affiliates, founders, officers, employees, representatives, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, penalties, costs, and expenses arising out of:

  • your use of the Platform;
  • your violation of these Terms;
  • your User Content;
  • your transactions with other users; or
  • your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

15. TERMINATION

BuyKarlo may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, where it reasonably believes such action is necessary to protect users, comply with legal obligations, investigate misconduct, or maintain Platform integrity.

16. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.

Subject to applicable law, courts located in Uttar Pradesh shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms.

17. MISCELLANEOUS

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Failure by BuyKarlo to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver of rights.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between BuyKarlo and the User concerning use of the Platform.

Certain provisions, including indemnity, liability limitations, intellectual property protections, and dispute-related clauses, shall survive termination.
